Being Salt + Light in Unlikely Places with Jihya Harris

Jihya spent five years working as an exotic dancer, thinking she
was living her best life (until it became painfully obvious that
she wasn’t.) During those dark years, God encountered Jihya at
the club where she worked! Even after finding faith, she remained
in that lifestyle, yet God still showed her love and walked
beside her. 


 


More than a decade later, Jihya is a mother-baby nurse, married,
and a mama. She recently started a ministry for women in the
commercial sex industry in Portland, Oregon: the city with the
most strip clubs per capita in the United States. There are
hardly any Christian ministries that support sex industry workers
due to stigma and shame. In this episode, Jihya shares how
believers need to meet adult industry workers where they are and
build relationships from a place of love, not judgment!
