Shepherding and God’s plan of salvation

For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have
returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. 1 Peter
2:25

Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them, nor any scorching heat. For
the Lamb at the centre of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he
will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe
away every tear from their eyes.’ Revelation 7:16-17

2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care,
watching over them—not because you must, but because you are
willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but
eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but
being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd
appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade
away. 1 Peter 5:2-4
