Welcome all to IS PHARMACOLOGY DIFFICULT Podcast! I am Dr Radhika
Vijay. If you want to know about many plant sources left for
discussion, what more could be added to the ones already discussed?
All these will be known to you all till the full stop. To break the
ice, lets have a word about Resins, they are oxidised, polymerised
volatile oils, insoluble in water, next I will complete my resin
story by fitting some good types of resins along with theur
respective examples. Next, I will be talking about Tannins, they
are phenolic compounds soluble in water obtained from plants,
basically possessing astringent action. Next set of words I
dedicate to the Gums, they are colloidal exudates, secretory
products of plants. They can be made into sugary polysachharides,
Though pharmacologically inert, they find great use
pharmacologically as suspending or emulsifying agents. Finally
before turning the curtains down for today's episode, a word about
Glycerine will make it to the full stop. That's all folks, no more
talks for further tongue twisting, more different sources of drugs
apart from plant or vegetable sources, all to be in store and
reserve for next episode, till then, I just want to let you all
know.. For all the updates and latest episodes of my podcast,
