Mental Health Mondays with Clint Malarchuk

Clint Malarchuk joined us on  Gouche Live this past Monday
for a special edition of Mental Health Mondays. Clint shared his
incredible journey with us, from the highs to lows, we got up,
close and personal with Clint. He played 338 games in the NHL for
the Quebec Nordiques, Washington Capitals and Buffalo Sabres
between 1981 and 1992.


Malarchuk is known for surviving a life-threatening injury during
a 1989 NHL game when Steve Tuttle's skate blade sliced his
carotid artery and partially sliced his jugular vein, causing
immediate massive blood loss. Malarchuk and his wife now travel
North America telling their story and helping retired athletes
who are suffering with mental health, OCD, and depression.
Malarchuk released an autobiography called The Crazy Game in
November 2014. In the United States the book was published with
the title A Matter of Inches—How I Survived In The Crease And
Beyond. The book was made into a documentary and is a must see.
