In this episode the boys sit down with country music star, Chris
Lane. Chris takes us through his journey as a college athlete
that faced injuries which eventually lead to him picking up a
guitar as an outlet while he was finishing up college to his
first ever concert in High Point, North Carolina where he forced
his brother (Cory Lane) to learn the drums and hired a few
friends to fill out the rest of the band.
After this, Chris was hooked on performing and dedicated himself
to developing his craft. Eventually he would go on to start
selling out shows at venues other Nashville greats would pass
through and got picked up by Big Loud records to produce his
first record. He also started touring with some other big acts:
Georgia Florida Line, Rascal Flatts and Nelly.
Chris shares his introduction to golf, which came a bit later in
life. Rascal Flatts introduced him to golf while he was out
touring with them and he became hooked. Derek had the pleasure of
playing golf with Chris the day we recorded this and we learn
about the fierce match between Chris and Cody at The Trump
National Golf Club in Palos Verdes, which included a lot of trash
talk.
We also learn about Chris' new journey in life which is being a
husband and now a father. Chris shares that his wife (Lauren) and
him decided to name their first born son Dutton (after John
Dutton from the hit show Yellowstone).
During the rapid fire segment (presented by Criquet Shirts) we
learn more about how Chris prepares for a concert and who he
would play his dream 5 ball with (it's a bit wild to say the
least).
All that and much more!
