This Week In The BIG EAST Radio Show, distributed by Westwood
One, returns for 2021, its seventh year. The third episode of the
season welcomes @ButlerMBB head coach LaVall Jordan,
@MarquetteMBB sophomore guard D.J. Carton, and Dana O’Neil
(@DanaONeilWriter), long time college basketball reporter and
author.

This week the TWITBE BIG EAST Spotlight shines on Carton, a
former five-star prep guard from Iowa who made his way through
the transfer portal and found a home with Marquette (6:29). The
BIG EAST Focus zeroes in on Jordan (21:25) who discusses some of
the challenging moments for Butler so far this season and trying
to keep his young team focused. The National Perspective comes
from O’Neil (30:50), a national college basketball reporter for
The Athletic. O’Neil gives an update on Villanova’s return to
play and breaks down the national state of men’s college
basketball.
The 2021 season of This Week in the BIG EAST (#TWITBE) is
available for download on Apple podcasts, Google podcasts,
Spotify, iHeart Radio, Overcast, Castro, Castbox and Podfriend in
addition to its Westwood One distribution. The show airs on three
Sirius XM stations on Saturdays preceding the first BIG EAST
contest of the day. This week, TWITBE will be carried on Sirius
121, XM 201, Online 964 at 11 a.m. ET, leading into the
Connecticut at Creighton game at noon ET.
The returning hosts for This Week In The BIG EAST (#TWITBE)
are John Rooke, a longtime BIG EAST play-by-play voice, and Kevin
McNamara, BIG EAST reporter, columnist and author. Rooke and
McNamara give a comprehensive look at the teams, coaches, players
and storied tradition of the top basketball conference in America
in each episode.
A new segment this year, Rooke and McNamara relive “A blast
from the past.” This week features memories and highlights
surrounding Markus Howard’s BIG EAST record 53 points, leading
the way for Marquette’s 106-104 epic road win at Creighton on
January 19, 2019.
The episode’s “Who’s Hot” segment features audio clips from
some recent big performances around the league and a recap of the
league’s weekly honors. “Who’s Got Next?” takes a look at the
upcoming schedule, highlighting the big matchups.
