As we gather around in the warmth of the Christmas lights and the
joy of the season, it's important to pause and remember the real
reason for this season: embrace the true gift – the birth of Jesus
Christ.
In the midst of the shopping frenzy and holiday chaos, let us
take a moment to reflect on the profound miracle of the
Incarnation and the fulfillment of God's promise to send a Savior
into the world.

In the Gospel accounts of the Nativity in Matthew 1:18-25 and
Luke 2:1-20, we are reminded of the humble circumstances
surrounding the birth of Jesus.
Luke 2:1-20
2 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree
that a census should be taken of the entire Roman
world. 2 (This was the first census that took place
while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And
everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in
Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David,
because he belonged to the house and line of
David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who
was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a
child. 6 While they were there, the time came for
the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her
firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in
a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields
nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at
night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to
them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they
were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do
not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause
great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town
of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the
Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a
sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and
lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host
appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to
those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven,
the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and
see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us
about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and
the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they
had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been
told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it
were amazed at what the shepherds said to
them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and
pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds
returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things
they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been
told.
Born in a stable, wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a
manger, the Son of God entered the world in unprecedented
humility. This act of divine love and sacrifice is a powerful
reminder of God's unwavering commitment to His people.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Embrace the true gift!
As we contemplate the significance of this event, we are also
confronted with the reality that the arrival of Jesus Christ
did not instantly solve all the world's problems.
The gift of our Savior is a reminder that while we may still
face struggles and imperfections in this life, we are not
alone. Just as Mary and Joseph faced uncertainty and
challenges, we, too, can find comfort and strength in knowing
that God is with us.
Imagine the emotions that Mary, the mother of Jesus, must
have experienced as she cradled her newborn son in her arms.
Despite being chosen for a profound purpose, Mary was
undoubtedly filled with doubts and fears, just like many of
us mothers today. Yet, in her obedience and faith, Mary
embraced the gift of Jesus with open arms, trusting in God's
plan for her life.
Are you ready this season to embrace the true gift, trusting
in God's plan for your life?
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you
hope and a future." ~ Jeremiah 29:11
You are called to carry the gift of Jesus in your heart and
share it with the world around you. Whether through acts of
kindness, words of encouragement, or gestures of love, you
can reflect the light of Christ to those you encounter. Like
Mary, let us approach each day with faith and grace, knowing
that we are called to be bearers of God's love and mercy.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ this Christmas
season, let us remember the true meaning of this joyous
occasion. May we take inspiration from Mary, who embraced the
gift of her Son with courage and humility. And may we, too,
carry this precious gift in our hearts and share it with all
those we meet, spreading the message of hope and redemption
to a world in need.
In embracing the true gift of Jesus Christ, we find solace,
strength, and salvation. May His birth serve as a reminder of
God's infinite love for us and His promise of eternal life.
Let us continue to carry this gift in our hearts, knowing
that we are called to be ambassadors of His grace and bearers
of His light to a world in darkness.
Let His light shine through your heart while you embrace the
true gift of Jesus Christ.
From my family to yours, Merry Christmas!
"Be present. Be incredible. Be
YOU!!!"
