David Hand is Senior Research Investigator and Emeritus Professor
of Mathematics at Imperial College, London. A past president of the
Royal Statistical Society, he is on the Board of the UK Statistics
Authority and is a member of the European Statistical Advisory
Committee. He previously chaired the Board of the UK’s
Administrative Data Research Network and the Research Board of the
Data Science Institute at Imperial College. He has written over 300
scientific papers and 30 books, including The Improbability
Principle, The Wellbeing of Nations, and Measurement: A Very Short
Introduction.
