This connection came from out of nowhere really, I was talking
with a friend of a friend about a potential podcast show needing
guests and coincidentally he was a graduate from a broadcast
journalism course and he put me in contact with Michael. After
some phone calls he agreed to record one and was enthusiastic
about paying it forwards to help the new wave of new comers.

It was my first time talking about journalism specifically and
got a real sense of what it's like from Michael's work in the
field, whilst all the time weaving advice in for new comers. Also
a good talking point on social media where broadcast filters into
these new platforms which become new new norm.

During the episode we go through some talking points:
Where did you start off, what did you do to get in?
- When did you realise you were destined for broadcast media?
- Was there any flags or paths you followed that stand out
- Who gave you your first break or role in the industry?
Moving through the industry, how has your skillset changed?
- Have you been through freelance, full time, academic
circles ‘Your personal brand in
broadcast and social media’
- What has your take on how traditional broadcast now extends into
social platforms
- Given it’s so accessible and personalized - how do you leverage
this for your brand
- you worked independently with some great broadcasters - have you
focussed now on your course director role now? Are you bringing
some of that experience?
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, what is yours?
- Looking back, what is a measure of success in your career?
