Blended Life EP. 04: Blended & Extended Family

This one is a must for all blended families!  What started
out as us inviting both of our Mom’s on our Podcast to give
advice and discuss #extendedfamily support in a blended life,
turned into one of the most beautiful conversations I’ve ever
had.  These women did in fact, talk about being extended
family of a #blendedfamily and what challenges comes with that,
but they also opened up about so much more.  Did you know
that divorce effects our parents too?!  Did you know that
there’s a delicate balance of loving on your grand kids the way
you always have and then making your new step grandkids feel
loved too?  Did you know that there’s still residual
feelings your parents will always carry for the other biological
parent of their grandchildren?!  Did you know that love only
grows and is not finite?  Did you ever stop to consider how
hard or easy it was for your in-laws to accept you into the
family with all of your red flags flying?!  The wisdom these
two ladies pour out is phenomenal and we can ALL take away
something relevant to our family life, our #parenting style, our
step-parenting and our marriages.  What a huge blessing
having this conversation documented is; our children are going to
be as obsessed as we are!  Enjoy!

Our Purpose: Why is talking about blended families and
life in general important? Because we believe that we can do
better than what statistics say about second marriages lasting,
about blending families making it, that’s why! A 70% divorce rate
statistic for remarriages with children is simply unacceptable!
Spreading life lessons, passing along wisdom gained from
experience and bringing to light what is often happily left in
the dark to hide, is how we all can learn to be better, to do
