Welcome to the Space Store Podcast, you're listening to our Space
Talk Special Episode, Accessing Space - Exploring Inclusion in
the Space Industry.
Accessing Space is Space Store’s latest initiative to show how
space is for everyone, showcasing and celebrating the
contributions, stories & achievements of iconic people,
across many different ethnicities, backgrounds and minority
groups in the Space Sector. Our goal is to discuss how we can
collectively use space to empower, embolden and inspire people
from diverse backgrounds in space, including those from
underrepresented and marginalized communities.
This is a recording of our first ever live panel event of
Accessing Space, How Black Lives Impact Space Exploration, with:
The First Woman & First African American CEE Crew Chief,
Sharon Caples-McDougle;
Senior Project Leader at The Aerospace Corporation, Justin
McNeill;
Community Outreach Organiser, Lucy Njuguna; and
Avionics System Engineer at Boeing, Emmanuell Murray.
We discuss their inspirations, passions, and experiences to give
insight, learnings and advice on how we can be successful in the
search for the next-generation of successful space explorers; and
hear stories told by these incredible black men and women who
have contributed in the quest for space exploration in the past,
and plan to do so in the future.
