Most of us believe that happiness is superior to other
emotions.  But is it?   Many of us if given the option
would love to feel happy all the time--at least we THINK we
would.  But are there benefits to negative emotions?
And does trying to be happier actually lead to feeling happier?
Today on the podcast, we address some of these
questions.  And I share part of my journey with emotional
health and emotion.

This month on the podcast we’re covering how to improve your
emotional resilience.  Studies show that 50% of expats have
depression; this is 3x higher than the general population.
The risk of anxiety is twice as high as the general
population.  Given the high amounts of expats with
depression and anxiety—we know that there are some factors
related to expat life that are challenging to our emotional
health.   We’ll be covering a few different topics and tools
this month order to help us improve our emotional
resilience.

On this episode you'll learn:

Why trying to avoid negative emotions often causes us MORE
negative emotion

The benefits of negative emotion

What to do with negative emotions

How to solve for the problem—not for the negative emotion
itself
