In this episode, we changed up from transition stories to overall
stories. I am joined by MSgt Brian Ogbonnaya, who is currently
Active-Duty military. I met Obie in 2008 as I picked him up from
the Airport in Okinawa Japan. He was an 18-year-old E1, brand new
to the USAF and the real world. I have seen him transform from a
young and dumb kid to a respectable and go-getter. After I got
out of the Air Force, we work together again in 2016. I was able
to witness the growth and professionalism this man embodies. I
consider him a little brother and super proud of his
achievements, but more importantly his growth and dedication to
his family. We spent time talking about books, ego, therapy, and
his battle with PTSD. I’m thankful he was vulnerable enough to
talk about personal matters, this episode will truly help someone
looking for help. We also talked about race in the military and
the sometimes quiet talks between minorities have.
