Facebook Bypassed its Hate-Speech Rules to keep the Govt. happy? | The Deshbhakt With Akash Banerjee

A stinging report by Wall Street Journal has alleged that the
social media giant Facebook deliberately ignored / even
encouraged hate content by certain BJP ministers in order to
maintain cordial / beneficial ties with the ruling BJP
Government. 


The report claimed that Ankhi Das, a top Facebook India official
opposed the taking down of hate content by BJP leaders - to avoid
upsetting the ruling party. This was despite the fact that the
content posted by these individuals or groups had been “flagged
internally for promoting violence”. 


RTI activist Saket Gokhale also claims that Rashmi Das,
 sister of Ankhi Das, has ties to the BJP. Many questions
have been raised about the algorithms of Facebook as well - that
suppress voices of dissent.
