According to this world Lazarus has no place and no value. He has
been cast aside as a lowly beggar. Jesus however honours Lazarus.
He has given him a name that means ‘who God helps’. Jesus
considers him of great value and raises Lazarus up for all
eternity. In the story of Lazarus and the rich man, Jesus
confronts the belief of entitlement and the deception of pride.
