“Addiction, Homelessness and Advocating for the Marginalized” with Desiree Franz

My guest today has worked in social services for 10 years the last
two have been spent primarily with displaced individuals and people
who use substances. She knows first hand the struggle and stigma
around substance abuse. As she struggled with substance use for 20
years before making the decision to get well. She is currently
creating a non-profit which will focus on education, advocacy and
peer involvement for people who use substances. Her goal is to
empower people who use substances to stand up for their human
rights while creating an environment of wellness in her community.
She is a strong, beautiful warrior for the marginalized in our
community and I am so honoured to welcome Desiree Franz
