The God Who Gives Free Choice

It seems like free choice is often a gift and a curse. In these
psalms we see that free choice allowed God's people to be carried
away in how they lived and judged or governed the people.

They had access to God to direct, lead and protect them - and
they chose to arrogantly walk in their own ‘wisdom’.

Psalm 82 ends with a cry from the psalmist for God to come and
judge. The people need their reality realigned - It is better to
choose to obey God rather than man.
