The Pursuit of Knowledge

Are wisdom and knowledge the same thing? Can one exist
independently of the other? Wisdom is often embraced as a virtue
by the church, but the same cannot always be said of knowledge.
And yet the book of Proverbs repeatedly praises knowledge, and
instructs us to grow in it. How do we do this healthily and
humbly, growing in knowledge but not in pride or haughtiness?
