Harvey Mason Jr. CEO Of The Recoding Academy says there was never
a threat to discontinue the Best Reggae Album Category at the
Grammys and there has been over 700 submissions over the last 5
years.   Over the years there has been reports from
Grammy voting members that the reggae category has been under
threat of being removed from the awards and that it makes no
sense to even consider a dancehall category. I asked him about
the truth of those assertions and Harvey says that is far from
the truth and indeed reggae has had many good submission over the
years.
