As a first generation college student, Roberta Camarena came to UC
San Diego with the support of her family and a love of learning.
When it came time for her own son, Elijah, to begin college, he
followed the trail his mom had blazed and found himself at UC San
Diego as well. Mother and son share what it means to support each
