OurLand is an ethical business located in Kanchanaburi, Thailand
where we function as a nature reserve, eco-village, and education
center. As one of the first privately managed nature reserves in
Thailand, we are working to model a more harmonious way of
coexisting with the world around us.


Located in kanchanaburi, our nature reserve is protecting a
secondary forest that acts as a critical part of a wildlife
corridor to the River Kwae Yai. At the heart of our reserve is
our eco-village where we are running off-grid using solar energy.
At our core we are an education center, supporting our
organization through eco-tourism and service learning with school
and travel groups from around the world.


"Vijo Varghese is the founder of the OurLand Nature Reserve, a 30
rai plot which acts as a corridor for the rich biodiversity of
Kanchanaburi. An environmentalist at heart, he left his career as
a corporate executive to pursue his dream of protecting wild
spaces. As an expert on snake handling, Vijo operates a snake and
wildlife rescue at the reserve, and also acts as an educator and
advocate for captive and wild Asian elephants.  OurLand aims
to preserve and reforest 1000 rai in the next 5 years, working to
repair fragmented habitats and prevent further deforestation."


Anshu Tripathy is the co-founder of Ourland and handles the sales
and business side of the Eco-tourism wing of Ourland. A sales and
marketing professional by trade, Anshu is mainly involved in key
decisions for the organizations that allow it to be a profitable
business and a benchmark for other social enterprises. Through
various community projects along with education based visitors,
Ourland aims to buy and preserve 1000 Rai’s of land in the next 5
years and Anshu helps in creating strategic packages and prices
to ensure the financial feasibility of Ourland as it grows.
