Hello everyone and welcome to A Pretty Normal Podcast, a show that
re-imagines what society considers normal. Each week I interview
different guests about the topics they’re most passionate
about. This week I had the opportunity of interviewing Kathryn
Boyd-Batstone, a Director, photo journalist and Cinematographer,
she is the director and writer of, "For Rosa," a short film
inspired by the Madrigal 10, an event where ten Mexican-American
women from Los Angeles filed a lawsuit against the University of
Southern California Medical Center alleging that medical personnel
coerced them into submitting to sterilization.  I had
never heard of the Madrigal 10 case before coming across this short
film. The events that happened and the judges ruling are something
that we can all learn from and apply those lessons today as women's
reproductive rights are still being threatened. So I encourage
everyone to go read more about the case. As of this recording, the
film, "For Rosa," is currently still not out, however, Kathryn
hooked me up with the exclusive sneak peak preview link and it was
fantastic. I dont want to reveal too much but she and the rest of
the cast did an incredible job telling the story. So make sure you
connect with Kathryn so you can get updated when the film
drops. Connect with Kathryn on Instagram @kathrynboydbatFollow
