Mark Des Cotes Shares His Driving Force Behind The Resourceful Designer Podcast. | 023

Mark Des Cotes has been in the graphic and web designing industry
for 30 years and almost 15 years running his own design business.
In 2015, he started the Resourceful Designer podcast which talks
directly to people in the same situation as he was who are
running or wanting to run a design business. He’s looking to help
other podcasters build brands both with websites and graphic
designs.


In this episode, he shares how he overcame his struggle with
imposter syndrome which held him off for launching his
Resourceful Designer podcast for over a year.


He realized that age really didn’t matter, but it was the
experience, skills, and knowledge that mattered. He doesn’t just
need to talk to people of his age, but to designers in general.
He decided to focus on people that were running their own design
business.


His podcasting journey changed him for the better. He’s more
confident with his abilities and with the messages that he
shares. It has made him more aware of everything that he is
doing.


His goal is to be known as the go-to graphic designer in the
podcast space.


“There’s no such thing as perfect. Go for better and you’ll make
it. If you try to wait for perfection, you are shooting yourself
in the foot, to begin with, you’re never going to get there and
you’re never going to be satisfied. But if you aim for good, you
know that you can reach good and there’s always that a little bit
better that you can get.”
