Episode #54 - The Chalice - Part 2

In this episode, we bring you “The Chalice,” part 2, focusing on
the live presentation of the song.  The guys explain why the
live version is so much faster and more aggressive than the
studio recordings. Dusty breaks down his take on the drum parts
originally recorded by Pat Bailey. You will also learn the
origins of the haunting intro sample. But much of the episode is
devoted to Night Demon’s demonized priest mascot, Rocky, who is
inextricably connected to “The Chalice” in Night Demon
performances. The band describes when, how and why Rocky was
brought to life, and how Rocky has become an integral part of the
Night Demon live show. Band members and people who have played
Rocky share stories and anecdotes of memorable moments, wardrobe
malfunctions, snafus, and the unpredictable mayhem that always
accompanies Rocky’s appearance on stage.  Lastly, Jarvis
hints at an expansion of Rocky’s story on forthcoming Night Demon
material.
