Episode #145 - A Wake

This week we continue our deep dive into Night Demon's new album,
Outsider, by peeling back the curtain on the creative process
underlying track 7, "A Wake."  You will hear the genesis of
the song in early riff tapes, and the pressure-packed
circumstances under which the band rediscovered those riffs late
in the Outsider writing sessions.  The guys explain the
necessity of not overplaying their parts, talk about the
shimmering vocal harmonies, and lead you through the epic guitar
solo at the end.  You will also learn the thematic
importance of "A Wake" to the narrative, and its significance to
telling a story of consequence.  The episode concludes with
a recent live version of the track, and the band's reflections on
its similarities to and differences from fan favorite "Darkness
Remains."
