Yesterday I learned along with many others that our beloved
brother in the Lord Fred Tomlinson went home "to ever be with the
Lord." There are no words that can come to me naturally to
declare how much I loved him, and still do. You see Fred's life
commanded a real presence. Not his own, but the Lord's. 


It was immediate when he spoke and taught. He highly influenced
me as a believer walking home to heaven for the rest of my life.
 Seldom in life is there anyone to follow. Perhaps one or
two will make a mark in our lives. Mostly we turn to the past to
read volumes of works by people who have lived long ago.
Beautiful, inspired works that will ever speak to us, because
they were received from the Lord. Fred Tomlinson was a very
humble teacher, and yet so powerful. His messages were resonating
and penetrating. He always pointed to the cross and the heavenly
pastureland that follows.   


Even in his final message five days before his passing, he was
speaking  and emphasizing about the love of God, the
eternal, indestructible power of His endless love. He spoke about
the finished work of the cross, and how Satan does not possess
the power to have the last word of our lives.   He was
a true torch-bearer. You see, he passed away and entered into
heaven, now rejoicing with those he loved to read about and learn
from. Most especially with Jesus Christ, the One whom his soul
loved more than anything or anyone. 


In essence, Fred has really only begun to live.   Fred
left us with an example to follow after. And where he is, we will
be shortly. As we live, we will now run our races in more
dedication, commitment. I want to be where he is one day and so
do you. Let us run our race with patience, looking unto Jesus
Christ the Author and Finisher of our Faith with great joy.
