In the book of Daniel chapter 3 we read that King Nebuchadnezzar
had a 90 foot tall statue make of himself. He sent a herald out
proclaiming the command to "all the people, nations and
languages" that they fall down and worship the golden image. This
command also came with a certain swift death penalty if not
obeyed.

There were three young men out of that entire Babylonian kingdom
that refused to bow down to that image. They were brought before
that dreadful, temperamental, pride-filled king who demanded they
fall down and worship the golden image. King Nebuchadnezzar, knew
who they were, and what kind of stalwart persons they were, that
they would not bow down before it and worship. So King
Nebuchadnezzar offered them a way out, but they steadfastly
refused to bow. Seven times in this chapter we see the words,
"fall down, fell down, fallen down."

There are seven times we see the words spoken by that king
referring to his golden image..."that I have set up." We see a
war. The seventh "fell down" was in the oven that was heated
seven times hotter. It slew King Nebuchadnezzar's mightiest men
of his army. But the three young men Shadrach, Meshech and
Abednego were cast in and "fell down bound." Immediately the king
saw a fourth one, "Like that of the Son of God."  I believe
they fell down at His presence because the pre-incarnate Christ
was already in there, in that seven-times-hotter fire. I do not
believe they fell down from being cast in. The whole chapter is
about worship.

They fell down bound at the feet of Jesus by their own accord.
The Son of God loosed them, and walked around with them in the
fire. They were delivered because they trusted in him, changed
the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not
serve nor worship any god, except their own God. These are the
six things that must be steadfast in you and me.

There will always be an evil idolatrous golden image set up in
our lives in one way or another, along with threatening demand
that we fall down in forced obeisance before it. We are always
going to find our faith so to speak being tried by fire. Never
bow, never fall down to anything of this world. Never surrender
to the enemy. Always reserve and keep your holy integrity, and
fall down before Jesus Christ our Great God and King only.

"Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise
God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen."
