Every now and then I get a powerful burning in my heart. It is
strong and deep. It comes on it's own, and happens all at once. I
know it is God without any doubt. It is a kind of deepness that
is hard to define and difficult to describe or express. I can
only say that it is a burning of God, a fire that does not go
away. All consuming.  There is a going to God in prayer over
it and asking what He is doing, what it is? But there is only
silence. Then there are "great searchings of heart" as to what He
is doing, what it means? But it only burns on. All methods, ways
and habits of seeking Him are empty. In fact it only makes it
more real, more fiery.   


It is a fire that burns away the dross of methods, habits and
ways we have been doing in things pertaining to Him. I am aware
that He does not want us to do anything more because it is found
out to only get in the way. I saw a verse today in Jude 1:20 that
says, "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy
faith, praying in the Holy Ghost." I saw by His light that He was
speaking about how we build our house. And WHO is building it?
Him, us or others? What understanding do we really have when we
set out to build upon the "only foundation laid which is Jesus
Christ." God is the "All-Consuming Fire" And what is wood, hay
and stubble, He will consume it IF we are really His.
  


He will cause a burning to erupt in our hearts. He will pull down
what we have built by laziness, cheapness and even fraud. Why not
let Him burn it all up here and now? We need to all be honest and
stop trying to preserve ourselves. What for? Our bodies are God's
temple, God's house. Does the Lord live in you? Can people say
when they see you, "The Lord lives there!"  If you have that
burning fire, you will love with a burning love, you will obey
with a burning obedience, you will have a burning faith, a
burning humility, and all that is not of Him will burn away in
His fire. And that very fire will be visible to all that you come
into contact with, and who see you. Let Him do His refining work
in you, and you will then "shine like the sun in the Kingdom of
our Father," "having no darkness at all."
