When the word precious is mentioned, it is thought to be of
something of great value, or high price like precious jewels.
Perhaps a precious friend or loved one comes to mind who is
highly esteemed or cherished.   Websters defines it in
synonyms: costly, dear, expensive, extravagant, high, high-end,
premium, priceless, ultraexpensive, valuable. When I see these
words, it is Christ who is emblematic of these expressions.
Whatever a person esteems precious, becomes the strong focus of
protection and preservation above all else.  


The words come to me from the 1 Peter 2:7, "Therefore, to you who
believe, He is precious..." You see it is one thing to say that
Jesus is precious to you, but if you do not believe His word,
then that preciousness is void. When Christ becomes precious to
you, then all that flows from Him become precious. What is
precious then becomes guarded by your very life and heart because
He lives in you.   


What is in your heart that matters the most is what is most
precious to you. But if there are things, and habits and ways
that are of this world and not of the other world (heaven), then
He is not precious to you. Your heart is the seat of Christ, by
virtue of His Holy Spirit, and that is the seat of divine love.
You can only love what is precious to you.  That love you
will have for Him then becomes most precious. The knowledge of
His will becomes precious to you. All that is precious to Him
becomes precious to you. Then you will go and pray to the One
whom is precious to you, from a heart of precious love, and
precious believing.   


In the growing days of darkness, while the whole world is
clamoring, fearing, and falling apart, you will live in His
precious light like the Children of Israel in Goshen. Because you
are precious to Him, your prayers prayed in Jesus name will
become most precious to God. Finally, in the word it says, "If a
man loves God the same is known of Him."  Is that known of
you? If Jesus is precious to you, His word will be your daily
bread, the "lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path." He
will care for you, preserve and sustain you because of His great
and precious promises unto you who believe for His namesake. Your
life will animate what and Who is precious to you to a dying
world.
