What used to be a beautiful truth about working for the Lord, has
now turned into a heresy. There is a semi-new teaching that even
repentance is works and considered evil. As well as many other
things done in the body on behalf of Christ, are now considered
to be condemned as evil works. This false teaching has it's roots
in thorn bushes. It is a stumbling stone.  


"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man
should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should
walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10  


So we see that it is not by works that we are saved, it the gift
of God. Yet we see that we are created in Christ Jesus unto good
works. We see that there are two works. The first one was
accomplished and finished by Jesus Christ on the Cross of His
crucifixion. Nothing can be added to it. That was the "work that
was finished from the foundation of the world." But now there is
the new birth, the new creation that we live in, "being born
again." The Holy Spirit living in us moves in us to do those good
works that are pleasing to God our Father in Jesus name.
  


"I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but
Christ liveth within me. The life I live in the body, I now live
by the faith in the Son of God who loved me, and gave His life
for me." Galatians 2:20.  


To think that anything you or I do in His name becomes some
sinister work that is condemned by God is to shut up the life of
God within you. It is in a sense, imprisoning the Holy Spirit
from having any outward expression in you, in this world. Let no
one rob you of the beautiful outward life expression of your walk
in Christ. The joyful expression of the new birth is freedom from
the letter of some kind of twisted law that brings death. Look at
the sons of Asaph who were the singers in the temple of the old
testament. They were "over the business of the house of the
Lord." How beautiful!   


Live for the Lord, live in Him, walk in Him, sing in Him, pray to
Him, love and believe in Him. This is life in the Spirit and "You
will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters
never fail."
