In the quiet shadows of the early morning I arose for prayer and
meditation. Things slow down when you get older in the Lord. The
words come from a deeper source within. Words that come out of
the heart where He dwells.  After I prayed and was reading
the Bible I came across a verse that spoke about our lives being
only a shadow. I dwelt upon these words, because as I began to
think of "shadows," I thought about how we are all walking
"through the valley of the shadow of death." Which indicates this
world, this earthly mortal life.  


But that Shadow-Valley is not one we dwell in or under, but only
go through. We do so under the shadow of the Almighty." We are
under His constant care, protection and love. Many people live in
shadows of self hate, shadows of rejection and abandonment and no
worth. Shadows of fear and grief. Others dwell in dark shadows of
consequences of sin. The kind that demolished their entire life
and families. God wants all of these people to come out of those
dark shadows to dwell under His Fatherly shadow. It is so close
to Him it is the secret place of heavenly Paternal love.  


No, God does not have a shadow, "there is no shadow of His
turning." The expression "dwelling under the shadow of the
Almighty," really means, a nearness so intensely close to Him.
Where you are cleaving to Him just like a little child, as you
"lean upon the everlasting arm." In the end of this life you will
leave the Shadow-Valley of this world. He will take you into the
other world of His Shadow-less Land on that glorious day. Where
there are no valleys, but only the "Mountain of Holiness."
