Long ago during my early born again years I found myself trying
so hard to be like certain people I looked up to. I was very
sincere in my efforts but after a time I found that I could not
keep up with trying to be like them.
I became increasingly empty and disillusioned in heart. I went
from one dynamic person to another with the same end results.
Those I was trying to be like are still, by todays standards the
greatest of saints through many eras. They had qualities that I
still adhere to because they are anchored in Christ.
Then came a day about twenty years ago when I came across this
verse in Mark 1:17, "Follow Me, and I will make you to become
fishers of men." That word entered into my heart from the Lord.
He was speaking to me directly in these few simple words.
The words that became magnified were, "I will make you to
BECOME...."
The religious leaders and circles will demand you to become like
them. And the more you will let them you will shut the Lord out.
Paul told us in 2 Corinthians 3:18, "...He is changing you from
glory to glory, He is changing you and making you like His Son."
Stop trying to become something or someone else other than like
Jesus Christ. It is truly whom you are following that you
eventually become and take on their likeness.
Follow Jesus on the pure white path that leads to Home in Heaven
Land.
“Nothing teaches us about the preciousness of the Creator as much
as when we learn the emptiness of everything else.” ― Charles H.
Spurgeon
