#240: Catherine Bohart - If You’re Not Bombing, You’re Not Trying

Catherine Bohart is an award-winning comedian, writer and actor
who has performed multiple critically acclaimed solo stand up
shows across the world. Her stand up special, ‘Immaculate’ is
available on Amazon Prime. She is also performing a number

Her broadcasting career is rapidly on the rise, with credits
including: Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, A League Of
Their Own, House of Games, Pointless Celebrities, The Stand Up
Sketch Show, Roast Battle, Celebrity Mastermind and as a
correspondent on The Mash Report. She recently
filmed LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland for Amazon Prime.


Catherine is also a talented actor, with credits including Mawaan
Rizwan's BBC sitcom Juice and the sketch show Lazy
Susan for BBC Three.


During lockdown, Catherine co-founded and co-hosted the
award-winning online stand-up gig Gigless. The gig won
a JOE.ie Award for Best Online Show and Catherine also
won a Chortle Award for Legend of Lockdown. She also hosts the
podcast Trusty Hogs with fellow comedian Helen Bauer.


Ireland’s award-winning Catherine Bohart returns to the Melbourne
International Comedy Festival with a very funny new solo show,
Again, With Feelings. She’s older than ever and quite frankly,
adulthood isn’t living up to her expectations. In this second
coming-of-age tale, Bohart navigates the complexities of having
death-obsessed parents, living in a shared house when you have
OCD, and confronting the intricacies of queer reproduction in her
thirties. What she thought would be a straightforward entry into
adulthood turns out to be an hilariously twisted adventure.


We chat about the highs and lows of doing standup, wanting to get
better, being an expert debater, her unique path to comedy,
perfectionism, what are you willing to do philosophy, being cut
from Tv, her new shows, plus plenty more.
