Mobilizing Kindness with Morgane Michael

You'd never know from the language in the intro clip to this
episode, "humanity is contagious," that we recorded this
conversation months before the pandemic hit North America.


My guest this week is not psychic, but she is a teacher.


Morgane Michael is an elementary school
educator, professional development instructor, and podcast host.


Her podcast KindSight 101 is about the mobilizing power of
kindness in and out of the classroom. In fact, she was recently
nominated for a Canadian Podcast Award!


I had the great pleasure of being a guest on Morgane's show in
the fall of 2019, and it was a true honor to flip the script.


We talked about the difference between walking through the world
as a teacher vs a podcaster, what's changed in education over the
last decade, emotional regulation in kids and adults, how to
connect with anyone, and of course Morgane shares two beautiful
chance encounter stories. One that is thoroughly moving, and one
that is sure to give you second-hand embarrassment.


Now, remember, we recorded this months before the 2020 pandemic.
Given the current state of education and the uncertainty over its
future, this conversation may at times feel anachronistic. Like
we're talking about some distant memory that wasn't just two
months ago.

it's affecting her as both a teacher and as a parent whose kids
are currently engaged in remote learning.
