Episode 62 - Week 1 FINALS Wrap: Quick Tap & a Brain Snap

Week 1 of the NRL finals is complete with the Newcastle Knights
and Cronulla Sharks bowing out. 


The Penrith Panthers and Melbourne Storm have earned a week off,
while the other 4 teams battle it out next week for a spot in the
preliminary finals. 


All 4 games were probably higher scoring than most would have
predicted with a record number of points being scored in a finals
weekend. This included a fantastic finals dual on Friday night
with the Panthers pipping the Roosters by a point. Saturday
brought us an elimination final in which Canberra proved too
strong over the full 80 minutes before a cracker of a game saw
Parramatta fall short on the scoreboard and knocked around by
injuries. Sunday was the second elimination final and the
Rabbitohs proved far too strong and set up a shot at the
Eels. 


Major talking points on the show include the 'Quick Tap' decision
in the Raiders vs. Sharks match, Gus Gould's comments about the
Storm and penalties imposed on clubs for deliberately stopping
play for non-serious injuries.
