In March of 1769 Swedenborg wrote to his friend, Dr. Gabriel
Beyer that the New Church “will come little by little, as the
doctrine of Justification and Imputation is uprooted, which will
likely be done by this treatise.” The treatise in reference is
the work Survey. If those doctrines are to be uprooted, what is
Swedenborg arguing should be put in their place? We dig into
Survey to find out.
