What are the differences between friends and acquaintances?

Friends how many of us have them , but no seriously.. why in our
generation we use the term friend so loosely ? Even from social
media (add them to my “friend” list) to our social circle (they are
all my friends). Ju and mo talks about the meaning of friends and
