Brett Solomon: Empowering the Next "Fire Starters"

Dr. Brett Solomon is a Child Studies professor and Director of
SCU’s Future Teachers Project. Dr. Solomon’s mission to,
“educate, guide, mentor and support the next generation of ‘fire
starters.’” She writes about the “pre-school to prison pipeline,”
as well as social justice and cultural competence.


In this episode, we cover the topic of her new blog, how to make
a difference in systemic issues like mass incarceration or racial
injustice, her teaching advice, and how she seeks to support and
mentor her students to become the next generation of “fire
starters.”
