Him and his parents emigrated from Russia to Rockville, Maryland
with only $5,000 to their name. At the tender age of 17-years-old
he founded his first company Ciplex which he went on to sell for
$1,5 million dollars. He then founded Open Me, a consumer-focused
social greeting and gifting company which he sold for $6 million
dollars. After two successful formulations and exists, he was
trying to entertain his 2-year-old daughter with YouTube videos
as he worked at his computer. But the task became a pain as he
struggled to find a steady stream of kid-friendly content to
capture his daughter’s short attention span. That experience led
him to co-found Pluto TV, an ad-supported streaming platform
offering curated channels. Which he sold for $340 million
dollars.
