Episode 102 - Rebus - Black & Blue (2000)

With the BBC recently releasing a new series, based on the
character DI John Rebus, created by prolific Scottish author, Sir
Ian Rankin, I thought we would go all the way back to 2000, to
look at the first attempt to transfer the character to television
and look at the first ever Rebus episode called Black and Blue.
DI Rebus, played by John Hannah investigates when a number of
women are killed with the same modus operandi as that used by
'The Preacher', a prolific serial killer active in Edinburgh
during the 1980s. But is a copycat killer at large, or has 'The
Preacher' returned to finish what he started?


In the news we go back to yesteryear to look at some forgotten
Scottish sweeties, we meet the fastest man ever to wear a kilt,
have a stern warning for Scotland fans attending Euro 2024 in
Germany and The Patron Saint of The Swally nearly gets into a wee
bit of bother at the airport.
