Anne Sullivan went from an orphaned child living in an asylum, to
a world-famous educator. She persevered in teaching the
deaf-blind Helen Keller how to communicate and acted as the
latter’s eyes and ears for fifty years.

Their story of adversity, education, and friendship is
brilliantly dramatized in the play and film The Miracle
Worker.
