Morgen and Trisha loved one of their listener emails so much they
wanted to share it and tackle Laurel's questions and concerns
about her two-year-old son, Liam. Boy, can we all relate to this
one!

Children in the 2-year-old age range learn independence and
express themselves, so possession of their toys and other items
is a natural and expected behavior. "Mine" might be the most used
word at this age, possibly even followed by a tantrum, which is
always fun... NOT! It can make you want to pull your hair out
from your child's constant need for attention, saying your name
over and over again until you acknowledge them, even though
you're on a work call and trying to cook at the same time?!? Yup,
we hear you. It's hard not to lose your cool but reminding
yourself that they are learning how to behave and what manners
mean can make it easier to respond the way you'd like them to
start acting and learning.

Choices, choices, choices is another thing that has been an
extremely helpful tool to use. Offering choices will yield the
result you're looking for and allow your child to feel empowered
by being able to make a choice themselves.

Listen in to hear how Morgen and Trisha combat biting, and please
do share your own experiences with them;
Momjeansandminivans@yahoo.com. They love hearing from their
listeners. Thanks again, Laurel, for your flattery and fantastic
email. We hope we helped!
