Stranger Danger And How To Talk To A Toddler About It

 


Morgen took her eyes off of Charlie for literally seconds to tend
to Auggie’s pooey diaper, only to discover that Charlie was being
returned by a father that saw her run off in those couple of
seconds of wiping! 


It made Morgen and Trisha realize that it’s never too soon to
talk to the girls about stranger danger, but they’re three, so
how do you go about making them aware without scaring them?


It starts with the basics, discussing their feelings and
intuition, talking through personal space, so they don’t go up to
strangers and finding ways that relate and make sense to a
toddler. Oh, and repetition, repetition, repetition.  


Morgen and Trisha both stumbled across an article on four easy
steps to teaching children about the danger of strangers. It went
over what to do in a situation when a child gets separated from

mother taught her daughter a unique way of recognizing stranger
danger that both Morgen and Trisha plan to teach Charlie and
