Is a US - China war inevitable?

~ Tayo thinks war between China and the US over Taiwan is
inevitable. Upper echelons of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC)
are promising mainland Chinese unification by 2049.  The CPC
is taking practical steps towards this objective by building up
South China sea island bases and developing asymmetric warfare
assets. Alarmingly, China's intentions for defending against a US
counterattack seems predicated on battlefield tactical nukes.
China is investing heavily in short range, small-yield nukes
which would be particularly suitable for taking on an aircraft
carrier fleet, for example. The good news is, China is not
posturing to attack US mainland, nor even Japan.

~ Tony thinks that China is too intertwined with the global
economy to risk war over Taiwan. Tony feels that the more
economically integrated China becomes with everyone else, the
less likely she will be to rock the boat or do anything to upset
its march towards possible economic parity with even the
US.
