Should the UK adopt a biometric security ID system?

With governments in countries all across the so-called democratic
West growing increasingly authoritarian–the UK included–is it
safe for the citizenry to accept a biometric ID system for each
and every adult?

TB can't work up enough passion to care one way or the other. In
fact, if anything, he seems to be somewhat in favour of it. Tony
"The Knife", on the other hand, wants none of it, even though he
makes the shocking revelation that it might be already too
late!

Although we much prefer effusive praise on our Facebook page, we
enjoy and appreciate any feedback you might care to leave, so
