Spearfishing champion, chef, and YETI ambassador Kimi Werner joins
the podcast to talk about her passion. She describes her visceral,
life-changing introduction to spearfishing, the primal satisfaction
of being able to provide food for yourself, how food inventory
became one of the driving forces around her life, and how sharing
fish and food can connect an entire community. She looks back at
growing up in Maui, moving to the North Shore of Oahu, going to
school for culinary arts, and how her experience as a chef merged
beautifully with her passion for spearfishing. She discusses
getting into spearfishing competition, working with YETI and using
