qualifying for the Championship Tour, the relief of requalifying
for the Challenger Series, actually getting an offseason, and his
thoughts on surfing’s three-tier system. He takes us through his
career, coming out of the under-the-radar surf scene in Long Beach,
California, thriving under pressure, working with Body Glove for a
decade, making his film Embers, and blurring the lines between
