In his sermon entitled "The Lord's Work in the Lord's Way,"
Francis Schaeffer called Christian people to a mentality of
radical dependence on God. All too often Christians work for good
things, but rely solely on human resources in reaching those
goals--the latest programs, techniques and strategies of the
world. In doing so, the church loses access to the power of the
Holy Spirit which is offered to us in the Bible. In this lecture,
we will revisit France Schaeffer's ideas about working "in the
Lord's way" and discuss the relevance of his sermon for today.
