You Love To See It 27: Attack the Block

Since actor and activist John Boyega (perhaps best known as Finn
from the latest Star Wars trilogy) has been making a stir lately
with awesome speeches, we thought we’d revisit the movie that
landed him his first starring Role. Attack the Block is a
small-scale alien invasion movie, with a lot of heart, a ton of
energy, and some interesting messages. Focusing on a group of
inner-city kids who get involved in a bizarre alien menace,
encounter a bunch of white people who maybe learn a thing or two,
and, for a brief moment, Pogo the dog, it’s a compact, breezy,
funny thriller.
