If HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN didn't start #SciFiJuly with enough of
a bang, here's an epic interview with the film's co-director and
editor, R.J. Kizer, who got his start editing for Roger Corman
and New World Pictures with 1979's UP FROM THE DEPTHS (which we
covered earlier this year) and went on to work on BATTLE BEYOND
THE STARS, SPACE RAIDERS, GALAXY OF TERROR, and so much
more!  We discuss the difficulties of these productions,
including how Corman's vacation put pressure on the delivery time
of UP FROM THE DEPTHS and how much PIRANHA was an influence, how
BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS is a RASHOMON event, and how our Nearly
New World selection of METEOR influenced the creation of HAMBONE
AND HILLIE!

Plus, we will talk about ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, which utilized
Corman's special effects crew from the Lumberyard, GALAXY EXPRESS
999, ANDROID,  Kizer's still-active career as an audio
editor for X-MEN movies and many, many others, and, of course,
HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN, including Daniel Stern's audition for the
Roddy Piper role, working with co-director Donald G. Jackson, the
locations, and much more!
